About Dr. Rojas

Dr. Ariz Rojas is founder of CPW Psychological Consulting and a licensed clinical psychologist with specialty in pediatric psychology. She is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (faculty bio). Her clinical expertise is in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, tic disorders, and anxiety disorders. She is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Habit Reversal Training (HRT)/Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Mindfulness. Furthermore, she has advanced training in behavior therapy for OCD and has certification from the International OCD Foundation for both pediatric and adult populations (Behavior Therapy Training Institute -BTTI). Dr. Rojas has provided clinical services in schools, community, and hospital settings, including telehealth modalities such as telephone coaching and internet-delivered treatment.

Prior to founding CPW Psychological Consulting, Dr. Rojas was the Co-Director of the OCD and Related Disorders Program and Co-Director of Tourette Association of America Center of Excellence at Mount Sinai. She has been instrumental in developing the cognitive-behavioral services in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Mount Sinai. Dr. Rojas currently supervises child psychiatry fellows, and has supervised adult psychiatry residents and psychology graduate students the past 10 years. Dr. Rojas' clinical research focuses on evidence-based treatments for OCD and tic disorders, and adolescent anxiety and depression, including clinical trials in both children and adults. Her most recent work investigates treatment for perinatal and post-partum OCD. She has served as a consultant for Click Therapeutics to develop interventions to reach at risk, depressed youth with smart-phone technology.

Dr. Rojas is an active member in the OCD community, serving on the Diversity Advisory Council and the Conference Planning Committee of the International OCD Foundation. She is also a mentor in PLANS: Psicológos Latinos Avanzando Nuestros Servicios, where she mentors Latino undergraduates who are underrepresented in the field of clinical psychology. Her commitment to the educational advancement of Latino students and her desire to honor the legacy of her father, who championed her own educational aspirations, inspired her to establish the Jose Antonio Rojas Memorial Scholarship at the University of South Florida (Jose Antonio Rojas Memorial Scholarship).

Dr. Rojas held a pivotal role in the development of the award-winning documentary, Unstuck: An OCD Kids Movie, and serves on their advisory board. Due to her expertise in pediatric OCD, Dr. Rojas was interviewed by the popular podcast, The OCD Stories.
